Abstract

This article analyzes the genres of Taiwanese documentary since the Seventy’s unto now utilizing the six modes of documentary production prescribed by Bill Nichols and discuss the possibilities and limitations among these different modes of documentary production. Since the development of Taiwanese documentary has clung mostly to the realism paradigm in the recent thirty years, hence this article would also try to explore and to search a broader concept of documentary production.
